The Mission of the Houston Police Department Museum (HPDM)

To preserve the diverse and unique history of the Houston Police Department and the collections of materials related to its history.
The Museum accomplishes its mission in a variety of ways:
Through its collections, public exhibits and community outreach programs including public lecture series, volunteer programs, and community activities, the Museum plays an important role in facilitating communications between the HPD and the communities it serves.
The Museum informs and inspires future generations of Houston Police Officers.
As the Museum researches, documents, disseminates, and collects information about the HPD, it serves as an important historical and informational resource that may be utilized by a variety of constituencies.
The Museum strives to honor all persons who have served in the Houston Police Department and to share their accomplishments and sacrifices with the community.
